For what it’s worth, I think doubling down on a framework makes a lot of sense.

And yeah: it’s super-hard to be stuck in LAMP-world when everyone else is working with a sea of virtualization, micro-services and real-time sockets.

I have wondered often what Elgg 0.1 2016 would look like. Almost certainly it would have been optimized around searchable, real-time streams of content, which plugins could then provide. That’s what I started to try and do with Known, but honestly: I don’t think it’s possible in PHP / MySQL.
